We are 730 strong, with 31 diverse nationalities in 11 offices, connected by our Temasek Heartbeat.
We are guided by our MERITT values and work together as a team to achieve our goals as an active investor, a forward looking institution and a trusted steward.
This year, we embarked on a firm-wide refresh to reaffirm our MERITT values through a series of interactive activities with our people.
We also connected with our employees through regular engagement events and feedback channels such as our “Temasek Heartbeat” surveys.
These forums provided opportunities for the senior management to interact with our staff and discuss issues which matter to them. Our employees also participated in our initiative to co-create and design our future workplace.
We are committed to developing and growing our people.
Our talent development framework provides the pathway for our employees to build their careers with us. They are also empowered to choose their own training programmes; to learn and relearn so as to remain agile and relevant, beyond their tenure in Temasek.
Our “Make-A-Difference” (MAD) Programme promotes a culture of personal ownership and responsibility among all our staff. Individual, team, and company-wide MAD targets are set each year. They go beyond financial and performance targets to cover health, self, institution and the community. We host a variety of personal fitness and recreation events to help our staff maintain fit and healthy lifestyles.
We value our people and enable their development through a learning culture. We balance agility and discipline through constant experimentation and innovation. Embracing a continuous learning mindset is important for us to remain relevant. We do not just train our people for job specific skills, but also equip them with essential life skills to make a difference to their families and their communities.
For example, we train our employees in life skills such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Automated External Defibrillator and Mental Health First Aid.
We do not just train our people for job specific skills, but also equip them with essential life skills.
We implemented our CEO Challenge to encourage our employees to step out of their comfort zones and learn something new. Over the past three years, about 60% of our employees have picked up a non-native language, learned a new musical instrument or acquired a programming language.
Our CEO Challenge encouraged our employees to apply their programming knowledge to solve workplace issues through the development of applications. We held our inaugural Innovation Fair to showcase these applications.
Our people are also active volunteers, contributing through T-Touch to support their communities.
Our incorporation date, 25 June, is designated our annual Community Day. Our offices around the world adopt and work with different beneficiaries on this day. Beyond leading activities for Community Day, our T-Touch volunteers in various offices are active through the year, supporting different beneficiaries and community organisations.
Our staff are active volunteers who help make a difference, and participate in many outreach programmes with non-profit groups and self-help organisations in locations where we have a presence.
